Chucky dolls are based on Charles Lee Ray, the main human and doll character in the Child’s Play movie series. The voice of Chucky is done by Brad Dourif. In the original Child’s Play movie, the human Charles Lee Ray is shot and killed, but before he dies, he holes up in a toy store, and transfers his soul, through voodoo, into a “Good Guy” doll. The store sustains a lightning strike and burns down, and the doll Chucky is picked up by a homeless man, and sold to a woman who gives the doll to her child.

Many dolls are made for children, but the Chucky doll is not one of them. He is based on that iconic character in the “Child’s Play” movies. Horror movie fans simply adore Chucky. Serious collectors often add dolls to their collections avidly, especially as new memorabilia is available after each movie release.

The Child’s Play movies are not for the faint of heart, and Chucky is not a lovable bad guy. The dolls recreate the character that had audiences jumping out of their seats. The doll carries on with the wicked ways of the man who was killed and who put his own soul into Chucky.

The collectibles from the movie series are available widely, and they run the gamut from static dolls to action figures that have moving parts. The face of Chucky is quite often covered with scars and stitches, and he often wields a knife or an axe. The most common outfit to see him in is the bib trousers with a striped jumper. Some of the scarier dolls have a head that turns around. Some of the Chucky dolls also serve as banks. Chucky is a talker too, often heard saying “I’m Chucky. Want to play?”

Chucky has a family at his side, even though he is a ruthless killer. Tiffany is his true love, and we met her in the movie “Bride of Chucky”. She usually wears a lovely white wedding gown along with a biker jacket. She has a cool tattoo, as well. After the movie Seed of Chucky, where he and his wife are granted a son, we met Glen, who makes the family complete.

Since the Chucky doll’s first film, he has developed a cult following, right up there with Jason and Freddy Kruger. Since Chucky is a doll, that somehow makes him even more evil than a human murderer. Right now, there is a dark surge of interest in Chucky dolls, and he is slated to be seen in comic books soon. Chucky won’t die, and neither will the popularity of Chucky dolls. Maybe his “son” Glen will grow up to carry on Chucky’s killing ways.
