Chucky Doll, Child’s Play 3 – There’s Definitely Someone Stalking

Child’s Play 3 is the third feature in the trilogy that had children (and adults) locking up their dolls at night.  It was released only 10 months after its predecessor and fans were certainly hungry for more of Chucky, the world’s most famous doll.  Look who’s stalking was the tag line officially used for this film that for a brief moment was even blamed for the murder of a British child named James Bulger.

Child’s Play 3 jumps ahead eight years after the events that occurred in Child’s Play 2.  Toy factory, Play Pals Inc., has been cleaned thoroughly and is now back open for business and a new doll is created out of the plastic remains from the old ones but the soul of Charles Lee Ray is still lingering.  They release this new and improved doll and Chucky begins his killing spree by murdering the company’s CEO in his office.  Chucky then makes use of the computer to find Andy once again.

Andy has matured quite a bit in Child’s Play 3.  In fact, he is now in military school since the foster homes never seemed to work for him.  Andy makes a few friends, including a girl named Kristin who he really likes however, there are a few people of higher rank that don’t exactly like him.

Andy adjusts to his environment through a few scenes in Child’s Play 3 but one day he is suppose to be delivered a toy which happens to be Chucky who gets into the wrong hands and kills a Colonel along the way.  Despite the death, others in charge decide that the War Games held annually should still go on so the soldiers are divided into red and blue teams.  Chucky takes the paint bullets out of the red team’s rifles and replaces them with live ammunition hoping to finally seek his revenge on Andy.

The first person who had encountered Chucky at the base (Tyler) is being stalked and now he realizes that Andy was right about the doll all along.  He manages to stab Chucky and runs to find Andy.  Chucky’s voice comes over the radio telling Andy that he will kill Kristin if he doesn’t bring him Tyler so he has to do as he says.  Chaos begins at this point in Child’s Play 3.  The red team opens fire, unaware that they have live rounds and people are being killed.

Eventually, Andy is chasing Chucky who has Kristin where they end up near a carnival at a haunted house.  Chucky shoots Kristin in the leg so Andy has to fight Chucky by himself and try to keep him from transferring his soul to Tyler.  At the ending of Child’s Play 3, Chucky tries to strangle Andy but Andy manages to slice his hand off which causes Chucky to fall into and be destroyed by a fan.  Kristin is taken to a hospital and Andy is interrogated and the movie ends with a garbage collector salvaging Chucky’s remains to prepare fans for the Bride of Chucky.
