Interestingly, Pinhead was intended to be an intelligent and articulate character but this concept was not received well by the producers. Since the Hellraiser script was done during the height of popularity for Halloween, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare On Elm Street, producers wanted him to act a littler more beastly and even crack jokes like Freddy Krueger was so well-known for.
Pinhead is stronger and more powerful than both Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees put together, possessing a list of supernatural abilities. He enjoyes mutilating victims with hooks and chains that are maneuvered by mental control.
Pinhead is extremely resistant to direct assault and other types of damage like gun shots and he can teleport, make objects appear out of thin air, use illusions for deception and even create distant explosions. Due to his occult and magical background, he can also read minds and use dead and living victims to create Cenobites.
